We exercised immense willpower to wait until September 1st to start decorating for Halloween. But in the end, we only made it until August 31st. Fortunately, our neighbors are fantastic, and with a perfect 73-degree Saturday, we couldn’t let the opportunity slip away.
We are maintaining the cemetery theme this year, but we have a few more surprises in store:
Walking Path Through Cemetery
It was evident that children were eager to explore the cemetery. We embraced the idea of visitors strolling by each gravestone. However, the fog machine distribution pipes could pose tripping hazards in the dark.

Our strategy involves guiding visitors along designated pathways within the cemetery. Travis constructed small bridges using leftover scrap wood and old bed frame slats. These wooden bridges will safely direct foot traffic over the pipes to the next row.
More Sensor-Activated Scares
Some of our favorite elements in our haunts are the sensor-activated features. We’ve crafted a collection of new DIY props and decorations that are sure to surprise even our returning visitors.
We want to give a huge shoutout to the NorCalHaunters group. Several elements we incorporated this year came from make-and-take events we attended.
In the weeks leading up to Halloween, we’ll be adding more posts dedicated to these exciting new decorations.
